Kevin Kramer was named to the newly created position of President, Growth Initiatives for Alcoa in June 2009.  In this role, he is responsible for supporting commercialization strategies for organic growth, and identifying and developing new applications that respond to market trends and customers’ needs.  In addition, Kevin supports the development and execution of global marketing programs for aluminum applications across existing and new markets.  As part of this assignment, he will oversee the Alcoa Market Sector Teams.

Most recently, Kevin was president of Alcoa Wheel & Transportation Products, responsible for forged wheels and aluminum structures.  This global business serves the commercial vehicle, defense and automotive markets with products used in a range of applications including forged aluminum wheels, and niche products such as Dura-Bright® and Dura-Flange® wheels and the LvL OneTM truck wheels as well as a variety of other aluminum components.  In this position, Kevin was also Executive Sponsor of the Ground Transportation Market Sector Team and a member of the Alcoa Employee Relations Council.  He also acts as the Alcoa Sponsor for the Toyota relationship across all businesses.

Kevin joined Alcoa in 2004 as president of the company’s cast wheels business, following a successful 21-year career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.  He held a series of progressively significant marketing and management assignments in Goodyear’s North American tire business, and its Conveyor Belt and Engineered Products Division, before being named vice president Original Equipment Sales, North American Tires.  In this position, he was responsible for Goodyear’s tire business with OEMs in North America as well as providing global coordination for Ford, GM and DaimlerChrysler.  Earlier, he held international marketing and sales assignments in the Asia-Pacific region for Goodyear.

Kevin serves on the board of directors of the Cleveland Food Bank and Boys & Girls Club.  A native of Akron, Ohio, Kevin graduated from Ohio State University in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing.  He and his wife, Therese, have four children.
